Helping grow businesses--$25 at a time

Helping grow businesses--$25 at a time

Lola Hasanova is 49 years old. Married with five children, Lola sells school supplies in her village of Tursunzade, Tajikistan. Business is booming and she now finds herself in need of purchasing more goods to sell. Lola is like thousands of other borrowers in the Kiva microloaning network, and one of the many entrepreneurs My Receptionist has been able to help.

Kiva.org is an organization revolutionizing the global fight against poverty by enabling people to lend and borrow personal loans--as little as $25 at a time. Borrowers are low-income entrepreneurs in the developing world using the loans to purchase supplies to help their businesses grow. Loans are repaid  to the lender at a repayment rate of close to 99%.

Jeff Noe, president of My Receptionist states that while as a company, they have dabbled in the microlending network, he and his team are working on an program to get their employees personally involved.

I find the concept fascinating," said Noe. "My Receptionist has always been about helping business owners grow. Now the business and our employees have a way to take that passion and do it across the developing world."
